My service isn’t limited to shallow water, so if you enjoy diving or deeper water fishing, portraits of this type may also be available. Some of you simply desire the visual effect of underwater portraiture, and I truly love helping them realize their artistic vision and providing them with portraits that they will treasure. There’s no other setting like underwater photography that can capture a graceful portrait, as the water can create a weightless effect for the subject. The resulting photographs are captivating and beautiful.

Lastly, the water itself is supportive. For this reason, many seek maternity portraits. While sitting and posing during late pregnancy can be uncomfortable, being in water offers support and many women find the experience more comfortable than a traditional portrait would be.

The Challenges

I’ll be honest. Shooting underwater photography is quite different than normal photography. It’s like scuba diving and snorkeling. Yes, they both take place with water, but one requires much more experience and much more equipment. Let’s use another example if a gun is shot at the water the bullet will only travel a few feet before it stops. Now imagine the bullet being light. In our case, a camera strobe. An underwater photographer who understands these challenges, camera settings, lighting techniques, and who’s comfortable in water will help make your shoot more enjoyable.
